My Background
Education and Experience
Washington State University - Teaching Assistant
From 2010-2012 I served as an undergraduate teaching assistant to the WSU Math Department. I assisted with Business Pre-Calculus and Business Calculus holding office hours, grading homework and exams, holding review sessions, and providing support tutoring all levels of Mathematics at WSU. From 2012-2013 I served as a graduate teaching assistant to the WSU Music Department. In this role I lead review sessions for music theory, graded homework for music theory and music history classes, provided support for music education classes, and assisted with the WSU Concert Choir often leading sectionals and rehearsals.
Evergreen Middle School - Math Teacher
I began covering a maternity leave position for a semester teaching 6th grade math, 6th grade safety net, and 8th grade math. The following two years I taught Algebra and Geometry to advanced middle school students.
Bellevue Youth Choirs - Choral Director and Pianist
While at BYC, I have directed, substituted for, or accompanied every choir level. I have been the pianist and director of Intermediate Choir and Concert Choir, and started off this year as director of Cantare and Cambiata Choirs in addition to working as music librarian. As a director, I focused on picking music that I could teach musicianship skills through using Kodály methods, while also providing a view into other cultures or perspectives.
Private Teacher, Kirkland
For math, I have provided tutoring for Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus. Additionally, I have provided home school instruction for Algebra 2 and Geometry.
To assist students in standardized tests for college admissions, I have provided tutoring to prepare for both the ACT and SAT.

For music, I have taught piano to elementary age students through high school age students and taught voice lessons to middle school age students through adults.
Seattle Opera - Teaching Artist
I am a teaching artist with Seattle Opera for their Opera Time program. This involves going into elementary schools, daycares, and libraries to present a musical storytelling program that introduces students to opera and the arts.
Professional Development and Achievements
While a student at WSU, I received three national merit scholarships as a Soprano vocalist, and was a finalist in multiple Young Artist competitions.
Since graduating, I have performed with numerous choirs in the Seattle area since 2013 and currently sing with the Esoterics.

I am a current member of the Northwest Kodály Educators (NWKE) and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), and have completed level 1 of Kodály training at SPU. I have taken voice lessons with Dr. Kari Ragan since moving here in 2013 and continue to study with Dr. Ragan to learn new ways to teach healthy vocal production.
I attend local music teacher workshops throughout the year to stay current with best teaching practices.
